About the Role

We are seeking an Adult Nurse to join our team as a Midwife in Training, as part of our MSc Midwifery (Shortened) Programme. This is a unique opportunity for nurses to transition into a midwifery career, working closely with Sheffield Hallam University to support their application to change career.

Key Responsibilities
  • Attain an MSc midwifery qualification and Midwifery registration.
  • Communicate effectively with women and birthing people and their families throughout the preconception, antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal stages under the supervision of the Registered Midwife (Practice Supervisor/Assessor).
  • Diagnose pregnancy, assess and monitor women holistically throughout the preconception, antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal stages through the use of a range of assessment methods and reach valid, reliable and comprehensive conclusions under the supervision of the Registered Midwife.
  • Work towards achieving the NMC Standards of proficiency for midwives (2019) as outlined in the Midwifery Ongoing Record of Achievement.
