Literacy Support Volunteer for Individuals with Visual Impairment

Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Literacy Support Volunteer to work with an individual who has a visual impairment, helping them to learn to read.
About the Role
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a direct impact on the life of someone in need of support with literacy skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Support an individual with a visual impairment to learn to read
- Develop a strong relationship with the individual, built on trust and empathy
- Work collaboratively with the individual to set and achieve literacy goals
- Provide a safe and supportive environment for the individual to learn and grow
Requirements
- Ability to work with individuals with visual impairments
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience and understanding when working with individuals who may require additional support
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
