Volunteer Reader for Person We Support

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Reader Volunteer for Person We Support. As a Reader Volunteer, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the life of a person with a visual impairment, helping them to learn to read and develop their literacy skills.
About the Role:This is a unique opportunity to work with a person with a visual impairment, providing one-to-one reading support and helping them to achieve their goals. As a Reader Volunteer, you will be responsible for:
- Providing regular reading sessions with the person we support
- Helping the person to develop their literacy skills and build their confidence
- Working collaboratively with our team to ensure the person's needs are met
- Being a good listener and providing emotional support when needed
To be successful in this role, you will need to be:
- Compassionate and empathetic, with a willingness to work with people with disabilities
- Good communicators, with excellent listening skills
- Reliable and punctual, with a commitment to regular attendance
- Patience and understanding, with the ability to work with people who may have different learning styles
As a Reader Volunteer for Person We Support, you will have the opportunity to:
