Join Our Team as a Reader Volunteer

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Reader Volunteer. As a Reader Volunteer, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the life of a person with a learning disability and visual impairment.

About the Role:

  • Provide one-to-one reading support to an individual with a visual impairment
  • Help the person learn to read and improve their literacy skills
  • Develop a supportive and trusting relationship with the person
  • Work in a collaborative environment with our team of support workers

Requirements:

  • Be over 18 years old
  • Have a good sense of humour and be a good listener
  • Be punctual and reliable
  • Be kind, empathetic, and patient
  • Be able to deal with information in line with our data protection and confidentiality procedures
