About the Role

The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Orthopaedic Surgeon to join our team in the Hip and Knee Unit. As a Trust Doctor, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the research and audit activities of the unit.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage in-patients and out-patients, ensuring excellent patient care and outcomes.
  • Support junior members of the team, providing guidance and mentorship.
  • Assist in theatre, participating in complex limb reconstruction and hip and knee arthroplasty surgeries.
  • Contribute to research and audit activities, publishing peer-reviewed clinical publications or presenting at international conferences.
  • Participate in quality improvement projects and audit, including robotic surgery and day case arthroplasty.

Requirements

  • MRCS or equivalent qualification.
  • At least 6 months of elective orthopaedic experience.
  • Completion of core surgical training or equivalent.
  • Strong self-motivation and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
  • A good level of computer literacy.
