Job Summary

The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled Orthopaedic Surgeon to join our team in the Hip and Knee Unit. As a Trust Doctor, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality care to patients undergoing primary and revision hip and knee arthroplasty and complex limb reconstruction.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage in-patients and out-patients, ensuring seamless care and treatment.
  • Support junior members of the team, providing guidance and mentorship.
  • Assist in theatre, participating in surgical procedures and contributing to the development of new techniques.
  • Participate in research and quality improvement projects, including clinical audit and evidence-based practice.

Person Specification
  • MRCS or equivalent qualification.
  • At least 6 months of elective orthopaedic experience.
  • Completion of core surgical training or equivalent.
  • Interest in joint reconstructive surgery, clinical audit, and research.
  • Strong self-motivation, organisational skills, and excellent communication and facilitation skills.
