Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Clinical Pharmacist to join our Pharmacy Admissions and Discharge Team at the Northern General Hospital Site. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality clinical pharmacy services to medical and surgical admission patients, supporting the principal pharmacist for PADT.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist clinical pharmacy services to medical and surgical admission patients, supporting the principal pharmacist for PADT.
  • Attend Post Take Ward Rounds for acute medicine on a rota basis.
  • Perform independent pharmacist prescriber role, producing and implementing guidelines, protocols, and SOPs with senior pharmacist support.
  • Contribute to service development projects under the guidance of the Principal Pharmacist.
  • Support and mentor post-registration pharmacists, participate in education and training of pre-registration pharmacists, and other pharmacy staff and healthcare professionals.
  • Contribute to out-of-hours service, including evenings and weekends.

Requirements
  • Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
  • MPharm in pharmacy.
  • Post-graduate Certificate in Clinical Pharmacy (60 credits passed).
  • Significant post-registration experience in clinical pharmacy, including acute medical admissions.
  • Experience in a multidisciplinary team and UK hospital pharmacy.
