About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Programme Director to join our team and lead our Programme APOLLO, a Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) programme to seismically proof the defence estate in Cyprus. This large and ambitious programme is expected to run for 8-10 years and is split into three packages.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage an integrated programme plan, including internal and external dependencies and alignment with sub-programmes.
  • Provide line management leadership and guidance for others.
  • Identify areas of high risk within the integrated plan and develop and manage appropriate mitigation actions.
  • Ensure the integrated plan is aligned with cost and resource plans, and other functions as appropriate.
  • Track delivery progress against the integrated plan through to completion.
  • Compile management reports, including associated metrics and added-value narratives, interpretations, and recommendations.
  • Maintain customer expectations from a programme perspective.
  • Implement planning standards across client organisation.
  • Carry out regular sub-programme reviews and ensure programme plans are deliverable and planning best practices are being followed.
  • Contribute to change planning by conducting impact assessments on the integrated programme plan.
  • Provide education, guidance, advice, and coaching on planning to client colleagues.

Requirements

  • Mastery in setting up effective planning/schedule management systems & procedures.
  • Expert knowledge of schedule management tools & software.
  • Managing resourcing, growing & developing the team.
  • Able to manage activities with significant uncertainty of solution or outcome.
  • Support to senior management in deal negotiations, contract development, due diligence & other business development or alliance development projects.
  • Excellent attention to detail & able to validate & check schedule management inputs, recording & reports produced, providing basic commentary & analysis.
  • Relevant university degree or equivalent with professional work experience in one or more specific disciplines in the programme, project or commercial management disciplines.
  • Progress towards achievement of chartered status (or equivalent) and/or membership of a relevant professional institution e.g. APM, RICS, CIOB, ICE, AACE.
  • Relevant CSCS card.
  • Advanced user of the Microsoft Office Suite of Tools.
