About the Role

We are recruiting for a Manufacturing Automation Engineer to work on a 24-month contract basis for a global leading process manufacturing organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and upgrading existing control systems and processes.

The role is based in Northeast Lincolnshire and offers a competitive hourly rate of £55 per hour, paid £50-£55 per hour, with a 36-hour working week from Monday to Friday. We estimate the annual salary to be around £55,000.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance of process control systems and applications.
  • Data backup and recovery procedures.
  • Supporting Process Improvement and Process Engineering teams in developing control sequences.
  • Implementing standards for DCS, ESD, and SCADA HMI packages.
  • Translation of user requirements and equipment-related process control queries into solutions.
  • Development/update of standards for new/modified control system architecture.
  • Following change management practices when altering control systems.
  • Providing input on new technologies and staying updated with technology developments.
  • Recommendations for infrastructure improvements.
  • Operational implementation of process control and infrastructure modifications and upgrades.
  • Technical expertise in support of capital projects, process evaluation, and project modifications.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  1. HNC/HND/Degree in Electrical/Controls (EC&I) or similar qualification.
  2. Relevant experience in Process Control and Safety Shutdown hardware, software, and configuration.
  3. Essential experience in Emerson DeltaV.
  4. Beneficial experience in ABB System6.
  5. Continuous manufacturing process environment experience preferred.
  6. Ability to understand fault-finding, diagnostic, and problem-solving techniques using Process Control systems and Data Historian.
  7. Advantageous experience in communication systems like OPC, Modbus, and ethernet networking.
