Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our dynamic team at Napier Turbocharger, a Wabtec Company. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, manufacturing, and testing industrial turbochargers for the power generation, marine, and rail traction industries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage projects within Manufacturing, taking responsibility for delivery, project planning, execution, and cost.
  • Create and maintain supporting documentation, including Manufacturing Routings, Layouts, and instructions.
  • Define, perform, and implement investigations into non-conformance through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Conduct inspections, including the creation of non-conformance reports, in-process, and final inspection protocols.
  • Work cross-functionally with different departments, such as Design, Quality, Procurement, and external suppliers.
  • Define and procure jigs, fixtures, tooling, gauging, and lifting equipment.
  • Generate and implement cost reduction initiatives.
  • Program multi-axis Turning, Milling, Grinding, and EDM machines using NC programming.
  • Program CMMs using PC-DMIS.

Requirements:

  • Ideal candidate holds HNC level or above in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, with relevant training as a Manufacturing Technician/Engineer.
  • Experience in a modern manufacturing facility, with a good understanding of modern machining techniques, plus problem-solving techniques.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Siemens NX (CAM) and Hypermill would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing techniques and processes.
  • Computer/software literate.
