Role Overview: Company Secretary Assistant

We are seeking a highly experienced Company Secretary Assistant to join our team at Sainsbury's Supermarkets Ltd. This is a 6-month fixed-term assignment based in Edinburgh, with the opportunity to work from home.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing efficient governance, regulatory compliance, and effective Company Secretarial support to the Bank's key committees. You will work closely with the Company Secretary, providing assistance in managing board and committee meetings, maintaining records, and contributing to the Bank's corporate governance framework.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure regulatory and statutory compliance.
  • Provide proactive and effective Company Secretarial support to the Bank's Board, Board Sub-Committees, and Executive Committees.
  • Create, document, and maintain accurate records of papers, presentations, and decisions taken at key Governance committees.
  • Arrange Board and Committee meetings and deputise for the Company Secretary when necessary.
  • Contribute to the improvement and streamlining of the Bank's Corporate Governance framework.
  • Maintain regulatory and statutory records.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to ensure smooth organisation of key Governance committees.
  • Stay updated with Corporate Governance best practices.
  • Manage the Bank's relationship with external service providers.

About You:

You are a highly experienced professional with a background in company secretarial or legal functions. Your exceptional organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage and prioritise your workload ensure the efficient governance of the Bank, maintaining regulatory and statutory compliance.
