About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Nuclear team at AECOM. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing engineering design and project activities, ensuring adherence to approved models.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and deliver complex engineering projects from design to completion.
  • Oversee the design and execution of sophisticated, high-specification systems, ensuring project objectives are met with precision.
  • Collaborate closely with Project Managers to estimate project timelines accurately, promptly identify potential delays, and communicate changes in project scope.
  • Contribute to all phases of project development from mechanical sketches and scheme models to commissioning and project review meetings.
  • Apply expertise in handling fissile materials, utilizing 3D CAD systems, and effective data management.
  • Manage and mentor junior team members, assigning, and ensuring delivery of tasks.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Certification: Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or working towards it.
  • Significant experience in mechanical engineering, particularly within the specific industry (e.g., nuclear, oil and gas, pharmaceutical, utilities etc).
  • Experience of managing and delivering complex engineering projects, from design to completion.
  • In-depth understanding of the specific sector's standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Exceptional communication ability.
