About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Morson Talent. As a Lead Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the mechanical design and delivery of projects within the Special Nuclear Materials (SNM) sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the mechanical design and delivery of projects, including the validation of single viable options
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure engineering delivery meets scope, time, cost, and quality
  • Plan and prioritize work to ensure timely completion of parallel activities
  • Conduct mechanical engineering calculations and checking calculations as required
  • Generate and check engineering estimates and execution strategies
  • Provide functional support and guidance to the mechanical team
  • Stay up-to-date with current technology and incorporate new developments into technical input to projects
Requirements
  • Experience working in a highly regulated industry, preferably within the nuclear industry
  • Knowledge and experience in nuclear containment systems and mechanical plant and equipment design
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages and 2D and 3D Autodesk CAD Products
