Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer

Bilfinger UK is a leading engineering and maintenance provider, supporting customers across various industries. We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Mechanical and Piping (M&P) design within multi-discipline engineering projects. This includes acting as the technical authority for the M&P discipline, supporting the Engineering Manager in achieving business targets, and managing client expectations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the M&P design team and ensure the quality of engineering and design
  • Participate in internal and external design reviews and ensure design acceptance by the client
  • Make independent decisions on issues and provide expert technical support within M&P Engineering
  • Lead projects in a multi-discipline environment and coordinate all M&P engineering and design with other disciplines
  • Effectively carry out, check, and approve Engineering and Design estimates, control, and report all costs on allocated projects
Requirements:
  • Experience of acting as a technical authority or line manager for an engineering organization
  • Deep knowledge of M&P engineering and design, with a sound knowledge of other disciplines (Automation, Civil, Structural, EC&I, and Process)
  • MEng/BEng in Mechanical Engineering
  • Chartered or Incorporated Engineer (Preferred)
  • Experience with the production of mechanical specifications, scopes of work, calculations, drawings, and schedules
  • Experience with the application of piping design codes to ASME and BS EN standards
