Biffa is a leading waste management company that's committed to making a positive impact on the environment. We're seeking a skilled Night Shift Supervisor to join our team at our Ford facility.
About the Role
As a Night Shift Supervisor, you'll be responsible for overseeing the production activities at our Ford site, ensuring that all operations are carried out safely and efficiently. You'll work closely with the management team to achieve our company's goals and objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead the night shift team to ensure that all production activities are carried out in accordance with company standards and health and safety requirements.
- Monitor and review production teams to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency and productivity.
- Operate mobile and fixed plant as part of your principal responsibilities.
- Report and record any deficiencies within the plant and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor staff training and compliance and support the management of production teams.
- Liaise with the management team on the plant's operational performance.
- Deputise for the Shift Leader in their absence and assume responsibility for the site.
- Liaise with external and internal customers in a professional manner.
- Assist in the investigation of accidents and incidents.
- Assist the team in achieving the site's KPIs.
Requirements
Here's what we're looking for:
- Working knowledge of health and safety, IOSH (desirable).
- Knowledge and understanding of ISO accreditations and requirements.
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, etc).
- Previous experience and knowledge gained in the waste sector (desirable).
- Previous management/supervisor experience of working with large teams predominantly in production/manufacturing environments (essential).
- A general understanding of engineering/mechanical principles (desirable).
