Job Overview

Our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Kings is located on the Denmark Hill site, offering level 3 Medical and Surgical care to critically ill babies.

We are committed to delivering sustainable healthcare for all via our Green Plan, aiming to achieve net zero carbon targets by 2040. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in developing nursing leaders for the future.

As a Junior Sister in our Neonatal ICU, you will have the responsibility for planning, managing, and coordinating clinical care for high-risk babies and their parents/carers. You will work closely with our Practice Development Nurses to provide individualized professional leadership and clinical development.

Main Duties
  • To provide expert care to critically ill and stable babies and their families within the hospital.
  • To lead and develop a team of nurses within the NICU, promoting excellence in patient care and staff development.
  • To act as a clinical resource and link nurse within the unit and across the Care Group, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
  • To evidence clinical expertise and relevant skills, including previous experience of leading change in the clinical environment.
  • To communicate effectively with parents, staff, and other professionals, demonstrating strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
