Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered General Nurse (RGN) or Registered Sick Children's Nurse (RSCN) with current NMC Registration and Neonatal Intensive Care experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in NICU/PICU teaching and a proven track record of mentoring junior staff. A tertiary NICU/PICU role for a minimum of 3 years at B6/7 level is essential.

You will be responsible for providing continuing support to clinical staff in their delivery of nursing care, assessing, prescribing, developing, implementing, and evaluating standards of care. Your expertise will ensure that agreed standards are followed to provide a safe environment for both children and relatives. Effective communication is crucial in this role, and you will need to work closely with multidisciplinary teams, patients, and their relatives to deliver specialist advice and support where necessary.

The post holder will also be responsible for delivering educational programmes related to Clinical Practice and Professional Development to support service delivery. This will involve creating an environment that encourages staff development and education, making you an inspiring leader and mentor.

Key Responsibilities

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • RGN/RSCN qualification with current NMC Registration
  • Neonatal Intensive Care experience
  • Tertiary NICU/PICU role for a minimum of 3 years at B6/7 level
  • ENB 405 or equivalent
  • Assessing and Mentoring Qualification
  • Educated to degree level or working towards
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is around £55,000-£65,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, you will receive a comprehensive benefits package, including pension scheme, life assurance, and annual leave entitlement.
