Job Title: Environmental Health and Safety Manager

Job Summary:

The Environmental Health and Safety Manager will lead efforts to drive a safe working environment for all Schreiber Foods, Inc. partners, customers, visitors, and outside contractors in the assigned location(s). This role will be responsible for implementing successful environmental and safety programs through coordination of HSE, local regulations, and building a 'safety comes first' attitude amongst Schreiber Foods, Inc. partners.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Compliance: Lead efforts to improve safety and environmental compliance for applicable programs.
  • Written Programs: Lead EHS team in development, maintenance, and improvement of applicable Environmental, Health and Safety written programs.
  • Training: Oversee and administer Safety and Environmental training in the plant, ensuring proper training of hourly and salary partners and documenting the training processes.
  • Inspections: Know and understand Safety and Environmental SOPs, leading as required during regulatory agency inspections by external safety and/or environmental agencies or customers.
  • Incident Inspections: Collaborate with partners and leaders to identify root causes of incidents such as spills, safety incidents, recordables, and other EHS issues.
  • Behavior Based Safety: Conduct partner safety observations (PSO) training for leaders in the plant, validating quantity and quality of observations to continuously improve.
  • Accountability: Accountable for plant safety budget and worker's comp cases, working with HO Safety and plant HR to successfully drive cases to resolution.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree preferred, or License/Certification in Occupational Safety, Health, or Environmental fields if accompanied by relevant experience and demonstrated performance.
  • Experience: +6 years of experience in Occupational Safety, Health, Environmental Safety in a Manufacturing Environment.
  • Skills: Strong organization and planning, creative problem solver, and good strategy behavior. Knowledge of Safety and Environmental permitting, regulations, and requirements for industrial applications is desired.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiently utilize computer applications (Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, EHS Software platforms) to enhance performance and provide information to internal and external customers.
