Our Public Law Team

Our Public Law team is a dynamic and experienced group of lawyers who specialize in civil liberties and judicial review claimant matters. We have a strong track record of success and are recognized for our expertise in this area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to other team members
  • Assist with delivery of training and development in the department
  • Deal with a range of Public Law work, including NHS and Local Authority challenges, Immigration and Asylum Tribunals, and policies and practices made by government agencies
  • Prepare and manage funding applications to the Legal Aid Agency
  • Supervise and mentor junior lawyers
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and other stakeholders
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in law and policy and apply this knowledge to our work

Requirements

  • Law Society Immigration Accreditation Level 2 (IAAS) and Supervisor
  • Previous proven supervisory experience and working to key performance indicators
  • Excellent networking and communication skills
  • Working knowledge of the Legal Aid Guidance for Public Law matters
  • Ability to service privately funded cases
  • Extensive experience in dealing with all Public Law related work
  • Experience in own advocacy is an advantage
  • Excellent IT Skills
