Senior User Researcher

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior User Researcher to join our team in the Social Security Programme Division. As a Senior User Researcher, you will play a key role in planning, designing, and carrying out research activities with users to help teams gain a deep understanding of the people who use government services.
Your primary responsibility will be to lead on a range of qualitative and quantitative user research activities to support business and project needs. You will work closely with senior members of project teams to provide clear, actionable insights and support decision-making.
You will be responsible for advocating for the value of user research by engaging colleagues and stakeholders who are new to user-centred design. You will also champion the inclusion of different types of users in appropriate research activities and advocate for accessibility, assisted digital, and inclusive research and design practices.
In addition to your research expertise, you will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to share knowledge and experience of designing research sessions to ensure they are inclusive and meet the diverse needs of participants.
You will be responsible for managing personal data, consent processes, and other ethical considerations when working with research participants. You will also be expected to contribute to the DDaT community by participating in events and reviewing processes, tools, and guidance.
