Job Title: Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant

Location: Sandwell

Salary: £84 - £95 per day

Protocol Education is seeking a Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant to support students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs (SEMH) in a school in Sandwell. As a Behaviour Specialist, you will provide individual and small group support to students with SEMH needs, helping them to manage their behaviour and improve their academic outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to support students with SEMH needs in managing their behaviour and improving their academic outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to support the SEMH needs of students.
  • Provide individual and small group support to students with SEMH needs.
  • Support students in developing positive relationships with their peers and teachers.
  • Monitor and report on student progress and behaviour.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, counselling, social work or related field is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience working with students with SEMH needs.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and techniques or willingness to learn.
  • It is desired (although not essential) that applicants have a qualification in Team Teach and experience in dealing with young people who have SEMH needs.
