Job Description

We are seeking a creative and forward-thinking scientist to join our team as a Senior Biomaterials Research Scientist. In this role, you will engage in cutting-edge R&D to shape the future of sustainable biomaterials technologies. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving the development of new materials that deliver performance without plastics and aesthetics without animal inputs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform a variety of wet-lab tasks, including synthesising or formulating functional polymers into textiles
  • Conduct material testing & analysis, including mechanical testing and characterisation of functional textiles
  • Record, analyse, interpret, and present experimental data to the team and advisors
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need a strong background in Chemistry/Materials Science (or related discipline) or an Undergraduate Degree with 1-2 years of work experience. Additionally, you should have hands-on experience in a wet-laboratory setting, knowledge of cellulose chemistries, and understanding of coding methods/Python. Familiarity with textile processing, chemistries, and finishing, as well as design of electronic sensors, is also highly desirable.
