Job Title: Community Development Coordinator

This role is an exciting opportunity for an individual to join the Liverpool FC Foundation team as a Community Development Coordinator. The position will be responsible for coordinating various aspects of the LFC Foundations current Premier League Primary Stars Programme.

The successful candidate will have a passion for working with young people and communities, a proven track record of delivering sports coaching in schools, and comprehensive knowledge of the PE national curriculum across KS1 & KS2.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning, delivering, and evaluating a wide range of sports/educational activities to young people and adults in a primary school setting.
  • Supporting teachers to improve confidence in running PE lessons, supporting schools with educational activations and interventions, and working as part of a team across mass participation events.
  • Being flexible and capable of adapting quickly to support the PL Primary Stars and WE Empower team when needed.
  • Assisting the wider development and growth of the LFC Foundation through activities/roles outside of what is stated.
  • Updating LFC Foundation's reporting database.
  • Taking responsibility for the delivery of the Premier League Primary Stars programme in a designated cohort of schools.
  • Plannng and preparing prior to each session using the PL Primary Stars templates and ensuring that careful considerations are made for all abilities, ages and SEND considerations.
  • Delivering interventions on the following topics to the highest possible standard across a variety of ages and abilities.
  • Ensuring that all activities are delivered in line with the current primary school curriculum and OFSTED guidelines.
  • Working closely with primary school teachers to provide support and advice to improve their confidence to deliver PE.
  • Organising and running teacher training workshops to designated primary schools and staff as part of the PL Primary Stars programme.
  • Developing and maintaining positive relationships with LFC partner schools and their key staff including, head teachers, PE coordinators and receptionists.
  • Liaising directly with partner schools to support and promote additional LFC activity.
  • Collecting the appropriate monitoring and evaluation documentation for each premier league primary stars session and assisting in the upkeep of VIEWS online monitoring and evaluation.
  • Ensuring all activities are correctly monitored with the appropriate risk assessment and health and safety measures.
  • Willingsness to improve through CPD and courses.
  • The wellbeing of young people is paramount at the LFC Foundation, you will be expected to understand safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Delivering bespoke interventions to individuals or cohorts.
  • Supporting holiday camps and half term activation when needed.
  • Supporting other LFC Foundation programmes with their female engagement.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate a passion for young people, the community and making a change, along with a proven track record of delivering sports coaching in schools to young people of all ages and abilities.

You will also need to have comprehensive knowledge of the PE national curriculum across KS1 & KS2, an understanding of different teaching and learning styles, sound understanding on equality, diversity and inclusion and its application in the role of coach and awareness of safeguarding issues when working with children and young people.

Essential Qualifications:

  • 1st 4sport level 3 certificate in supporting the delivery of physical education or working towards it.
  • 1st 4sport level 2 award in multi-skills development in sport.
  • AFPE Level 3 or a minimum of QTS qualification.
  • Level 1 (or higher) qualification in safeguarding young people.
  • Desired teaching qualification.

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum depending on experience.
