Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Platform Systems Designer to join our team. As a key member of our Nuclear Submarine Programme, you will be responsible for designing and developing critical systems that deliver crucial ship services and crew life support capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop mechanical platform systems that meet demanding product requirements.
  • Collaborate with customers to understand their needs and develop requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Perform and review engineering calculations and analysis to make design decisions and demonstrate system performance.
  • Develop design evidence required to justify safe and effective designs and generate customer confidence.
  • Cordinate and manage stakeholders to solve complex engineering problems and make responsible decisions.

Requirements:

  • Educated to Degree level in Engineering, Mechanical or Science Subjects.
  • Chartered Engineer within a recognised engineering institute.
  • Background in Fluid Systems Design.
  • Design documentation with ability to present to customers and wider groups.
  • Solving complex engineering calculations.
