Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Mental Health & Learning Disability pharmacy team as a Senior Pharmacy Technician. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a busy dispensing service for in-patients and out-patients, supporting the provision of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the provision of a busy dispensing service, including final accuracy checking of prescriptions.
  • Deputise for the Band 6 Lead Pharmacy Technician in their absence, assuming responsibility for the day-to-day organisation of the dispensary workload.
  • Provide technical support to wards and coordinate the dispensing and supply of clozapine to in-patients and out-patients in Aberdeen city and Aberdeenshire.
  • Lead medicines management at ward level, supporting clinical pharmacists with medicines reconciliation and patient medication supply.
  • Contribute to medicines-related audit and deliver training on safe and secure handling of medicines to nursing staff.

Requirements:

  • Registered pharmacy technician with an Accredited Checking Technician qualification.
  • Interest in working within mental health and learning disability services.
