We are seeking a Health and Safety Professional to join our team at the Breedon Group plc. This role is based at our GB Cement division, reporting to the GB Cement business Health and Safety Manager.

This position requires a strong understanding of health and safety legislation and the ability to provide professional advice to others across the Hope Site and our Depots and Terminals.

The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating incident investigations, developing and implementing health and safety programs, and ensuring legal compliance with regards to health and safety matters.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing professional advice to others across the Hope Site and our Depots and Terminals
  • Facilitating incident investigations and generating suitable actions
  • Developing and implementing health and safety programs, including training and competency frameworks
  • Ensuring legal compliance with regards to health and safety matters
  • Seeking out relevant best practice and implementing suitable plans
  • Undertaking regular audits and inspections to determine compliance with H&S legislative requirements
  • Organising, facilitating and delivering training as required and managing training records
  • Overseeing the induction programme for visitors and contractor partners

The ideal candidate will have a NEBOSH National Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, IOSH membership, and extensive relevant health and safety advisory experience.

They will also possess excellent communication skills, a thorough knowledge of relevant H&S legislation, and the ability to mentor and coach fellow auditors and auditees.
