Housing Services Manager Job Description

Venesky-Brown's client, a public sector organisation in Rugby, is seeking a Housing Services Manager to lead the management of housing services areas. This is a 12-month contract on a rate of £40 per hour Umbrella - £30.77 per hour PAYE. The role will be hybrid working with 2 days onsite per week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure effective management of non-performance and timely resolution of issues.
  • Manage complex housing-related projects to inform and facilitate the delivery of the housing service plan, Housing Strategy, and Housing Revenue Account business plan.
  • Work with other managers to develop processes and implement service improvement changes for customers and the Council.
  • Deliver a value-for-money service that is fit for purpose and in accordance with regulatory requirements, policies, and procedures.
  • Execute the client role to ensure excellent service delivery in respect of property repairs services.
  • Oversee the implementation and management of estates management/neighbourhood inspections to ensure issues are addressed effectively.
  • Support the development and delivery of tenant/resident involvement initiatives to empower tenants and hold the service to account.
  • Establish links and partnerships with local authorities, private, public, and community/voluntary sector organisations to deliver the Council's plans for the housing service.
  • Provide good customer care and customer services in line with the Council's 'CAN DO' values and Equality and Diversity policies.
Requirements
  • Demonstrable successful change management experience in housing or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of housing and relevant legislations and how it is developing.
  • Experience of housing management of general needs and independent living types of accommodation.
  • Delivery of significant corporate and service-specific projects combining cross-cutting areas.
  • Involvement in partnerships with other local authorities, community/voluntary sector, and statutory agencies.
  • Ability to innovate in response to new housing requirements and circumstances.
  • Commitment to the Council's values and Equality and Diversity objectives.
  • Knowledge of procurement and contract monitoring.
  • Ability to work within the Council's financial guidelines.
  • Ability to manage projects.
  • Good understanding and experience of IT systems utilised within the housing management fields.
  • Membership of the Chartered Institute of Housing or equivalent body.
