Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Clinic Administrator to join our team at the University Hospital of North Midlands NHS Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that outpatient clinics are fully utilised and patients are allocated an appointment within NHS national targets.

The role will involve working closely with operational teams to develop a wide knowledge of specialties, promoting effective communication to ensure a good patient experience. The post holder will also be responsible for dealing with enquiries, communicating tactfully with patients and reception staff, and handling general internal calls and external patient calls.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the Outpatient department, including coordinating and adjusting ongoing clinic appointments and clinic alterations.
  • Communicate closely with the system administrators on a daily basis to update them on any slot issues, patient queries, and ensure feedback is given on any work that has been allocated daily.
  • Ensure that all available capacity is fully utilised and take instruction from operational teams to deliver an effective and efficient booking service.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have previous NHS experience, computer literacy skills, and GCSE English and Maths at grade C. They will also have excellent communication and team building skills, with the ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks.
