**Specialist Teaching Assistant** Role at GSL Education

We are a leading education recruitment agency in London, dedicated to providing high-quality staff to schools across the region. We are currently seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to work with students who require additional support due to Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

The successful candidate will have prior experience working with students with SEMH needs, and possess strong communication skills, patience, and a supportive approach to working with children. The estimated salary for this role is £98 per day, based on the location and experience required.

  • Provide individualized support to students with SEMH needs, promoting their social, emotional and academic development.
  • Work closely with teachers to develop personalized learning plans, ensuring students receive the support they need to succeed.
  • Assist in managing challenging behaviors, creating a safe and inclusive environment for all students.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience working with students with SEMH needs is desirable.
  • Strong communication skills, patience, and a supportive approach to working with children.
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviors while maintaining a positive and encouraging atmosphere.
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding procedures.
