About the Role

At Aviva, we're embarking on an exciting mission to simplify our customers' lives and create a seamless experience. To achieve this, we need a skilled Data Strategy Expert who can drive our data agenda forward.

Key Responsibilities

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills and expertise in data strategy, leading the roadmap for our Customer & Market data strategy. You'll be responsible for defining data products, advising on their efficient utilisation, and engaging with senior leadership to convey the opportunities available from data.

You'll also have the chance to support data innovation, guide prioritisation of development, and build the best business outcomes. With a strong awareness of business opportunities and constraints, you'll lead on driving the data strategy that gives us competitive advantages.

Skills and Experience We're Looking For
  • Experience in developing data architecture strategy and execution in large organisations like Aviva, preferably with Financial Services and Martech/Customer Data Platforms expertise.
  • Skills in making sophisticated decisions that balance near-term value delivery with longer-term sustainability.
  • Ability to influence through building positive relationships and strong communication adapted to the audience's environment, drivers, and needs.
  • Expertise in all things data, including lifecycle, technologies, data-patterns, domain-driven design, insights, analytics, machine learning, master and reference data management, integration, data warehousing, NoSQL, data quality, metadata, and data compliance.
  • Outwardly looking with an excellent understanding of industry-standard data strategies and trends alongside technologies and business models.
What You'll Get for This Role
  • Salary: £90,000 national, circa £120,000 in London (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications).
  • Bonus opportunity: 12% of annual salary (performance-dependent).
