Sustainable Travel Officer

About the role:

We are seeking a skilled Sustainable Travel Officer to join our team at Powys County Council. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in developing and delivering education and promotional schemes to increase the use of sustainable modes of transport within the County.

You will work closely with our small team to reduce our dependency on private motor vehicles and help meet national targets for carbon reduction. Your passion for sustainability and ability to manage projects from conception to completion will be essential in achieving our goals.

About you:

We are looking for someone with a proven track record of managing projects with a sustainable theme. You will have a strong interest in contributing towards Net Zero carbon emission targets and a passion for driving change. Your ability to work with schools and larger employers, including the County Council, will be vital in promoting sustainable travel practices.

What you will do:

As a Sustainable Travel Officer, you will work predominantly within schools to encourage walking and cycling as the preferred mode of transport. You will also support change within larger employers, including the County Council, to reduce our carbon footprint.
