About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Mental Health Liaison Nurse to join our team at Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Liaison Team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality mental health care to patients in our acute hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert mental health assessment and advice to patients presenting in A&E with self-harm and mental health difficulties.
  • Assess and advise on the management of patients with mental health issues who are admitted to other wards at RSCH.
  • Assess and support people in crisis across the Urgent Care pathway, including the Haven.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Registered Nurse with current registration (mental health/LD/adult) appropriate to the job role.
  • Knowledge of MHA (1983/2007).
  • Knowledge of Mental Capacity Act (2005), to include practical knowledge of FACE documentation, DOLS, and Best Interest decisions.
  • Child and Adult safeguarding procedures.
  • Change management, organizing, and prioritizing workloads.
  • Demonstrate ability to enhance care through evidence-based knowledge.
  • Demonstrate professional development relevant to the care group.
  • Demonstrate ability to assess and manage clinical risk.
