Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Renewable Energy Development Manager to join our team at The Green Recruitment Company.

As a key professional, you will drive growth in the UK market by managing grid connection aspects of large-scale solar projects. Your primary responsibility will be to manage the grid connection aspects of projects from initial conception to planning submission and through transaction due diligence.

  • You will identify new project leads using GIS, collaborate with teams, and progress leads into active projects.
  • You will submit formal grid connection applications.
  • You will design, specify, and budget substation and grid infrastructure equipment for project connections.
  • You will mentor and share knowledge with less experienced team members.
  • You will engage with network operators and trade bodies to support renewable energy deployment and net-zero.
  • You will collaborate with ICPs, TAs, and technical partners.
  • You will review technical standards and policy documents, implement design and process improvements.
  • You will act as primary technical and grid design expert, offering support throughout project development.
  • You will assist with transaction due diligence, addressing grid-related queries.
  • You will liaise with network operators to ensure project progress and compliance with requirements.
Requirements
  • Team-oriented, with strong communication and organizational skills.
  • At least 4 years of experience in grid connections.
  • Proficient in MS Office and Excel, with experience creating models for designs and assessments.
  • Knowledge of protection communication requirements.
  • Commercial awareness of how design choices impact project profitability.
  • Experience with power modeling software and multi-megawatt solar installations is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with distribution and transmission network operators.
  • Bachelor's degree in renewable energy, engineering, or a related discipline.

The estimated salary for this role is £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
