Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced professional to lead our Central Laboratory site, driving delivery of customer and internal activities while setting the standards for the site in line with NNL values and behaviours.


Key Responsibilities
  • As the first point of contact for delivery across all activities based in Central Lab, you will prioritise and deliver agreed programmes of work within the facility.
  • You will work closely with Heads of Capability, reviewing performance of staff, programmes of work and priorities for the facility in line with NNL business plans, risk management priorities and internal plans for capex and S&T.
  • You will intervene on issues and ensure the highest standards are maintained for the building and its people.
  • You will be the senior sponsor for the facility's continuous improvement programmes, driving efficient ways of working and improving customer and facility recoveries.
  • You will collaborate with assurance teams to identify areas of improvement or further reduction in risks.
Essential Criteria
  • You must have experience in managing operational facilities, people, and equipment on a nuclear site.
  • You should have leadership experience of a facility, where you have maximised the potential of the operation, including people, and equipment.
  • You should have experience in developing relationships with internal and external stakeholders and supporting the delivery of projects.
  • You should have experience in managing multi-million pound budgets, cost control, financial forecasting and planning.
  • You should have operational experience in a regulated environment, managing technical and facility programmes to a high EHSS&Q standard.
  • You should have experience in leadership and driving cultural change through the support in and implementation of strategic business developments.
  • You should have technical knowledge of a nuclear facility's capabilities.
  • You should be able to obtain SC level security clearance (this includes but is not limited to identity, employment, financial and criminal record checks plus 5 years' worth of UK residency).
  • You should have strong business and commercial acumen.
About the Role

This role offers a competitive salary of £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience. You will also benefit from a range of attractive benefits, including:
