About the Role:
National Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) is a world-leading research centre and consultancy, providing nuclear expertise to government and industry. We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Team Lead - Nuclear Site Operations to join our team in Sellafield.

About You:
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced mechanical engineer to lead our maintenance team at NNL's Sellafield site. As a Mechanical Team Lead - Nuclear Site Operations, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and compliant operation of our nuclear facilities. This role requires strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team of engineers and technicians. In addition, you will need excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Leading a team of engineers and technicians to ensure the safe and compliant operation of our nuclear facilities.
  • Coordinating maintenance activities to minimize downtime and maximize plant availability.
  • Developing and implementing maintenance strategies to optimize equipment performance and reduce maintenance costs.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • A degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in a similar role, preferably in the nuclear industry.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.

What We Offer:
NNL offers a competitive salary package, including a base salary of £65,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience. We also offer a range of benefits, including a contributory pension scheme, life assurance, and annual leave entitlement.
