Job Description

Questech Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Occupational Health Specialist to join our team. As an Occupational Health Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the business to grow by providing a quality professional portfolio of services that best meets and matches the business requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with the Health and Safety team, line managers, and the People Team to provide a proactive and effective occupational health service to the business.
  • Conduct health assessments with referred employees and provide timely and clear advice and recommendations to line management, people team, and employees.
  • Provide and manage surveillance and fitness to work programs in relation to legislative and best practice needs.
  • Assist in the development of Company surveillance programs and health/wellbeing/awareness campaigns.
  • Attend and participate in operational and health and safety meetings to add value in relation to occupational health issues.
  • Ensure all new employees undergo a pre-employment medical and that all leavers from the business undergo an exit medical.
  • Participate in the creation and delivery of training sessions across a wide range of occupational health issues.
  • Contribute to Company newsletters and health-related leaflets.
  • Maintain confidential medical records in line with all legal and statutory regulations.
  • Assist with compilation of medical information for employer liability claims.
  • Maintain and grow professional competencies, skills, and knowledge base by networking and continued professional education.
Requirements:
  • Occupational Health Nurse (OHN) or Registered General Nurse (RGN) qualification.
  • Recognized qualification in Occupational Health at degree level or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in an occupational health setting within a manufacturing/production environment.
  • Previous participation in the creation of policies and procedures, the promotion of workplace health strategies, and training experience.
  • Broad knowledge of health and safety legislation.
  • Up-to-date training and competence in all aspects of Health Surveillance.
  • Up-to-date knowledge on Occupational Health law.
  • Experience in preventing occupationally related diseases and injuries through the implementation of effective health risk management.
