About the Role

Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the position of Head of Specialty Training School for Ophthalmology. As a key member of the Specialty Training Team, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading the delivery of high-quality training programs in Ophthalmology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to improve the quality of training programs in Ophthalmology.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the effective delivery of training programs.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the Specialty Training Team to ensure the achievement of training goals.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including NHS Wales, education providers, and professional bodies.
  • Stay up-to-date with current national policy developments in postgraduate medical education and training and the NHS in Wales.
