Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a senior leader to join Health Education and Improvement Wales' Specialty Training Team within the Medicine Directorate.
The Specialty Training team is responsible for supporting the planning, delivery, and management of postgraduate medical training programs across Wales.
Main Duties of the Job
The Head of School for Ophthalmology will work closely with other senior leaders and the administrative team to ensure the delivery of high-quality training across Wales.
The post holder will be required to liaise with and maintain good working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

Medical degree, GMC license to practice, and current substantive contract as an NHS Consultant practicing in the specialty in Wales.
Experience

Significant experience of working within the health sector, with academic and professional credibility, and an outstanding record of achievement.
Demonstrable leadership, vision, and strategic thinking skills, with experience of developing and implementing strategic plans.
Ability to communicate complex information to large teams and groups, and establish and maintain high-quality working relationships with stakeholders.
