Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a senior leader to join Health Education and Improvement Wales' Specialty Training Team within the Medicine Directorate.

The Specialty Training team is responsible for supporting the planning, delivery, and management of postgraduate medical training programs across Wales.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will work closely with the other Heads of Schools and the administrative team to ensure the delivery of high-quality training across Wales.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing strategic leadership and vision for the Ophthalmology training program
  • Developing and implementing strategic plans to improve training outcomes
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration and communication
  • Maintaining high-quality working relationships with a broad range of stakeholders
  • Ability to communicate complex information to large multiprofessional teams and groups
