About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Research and Enterprise Office at the University of Essex for a highly motivated and proactive Research Support Administrator to work as part of an expanding team delivering a high-quality Pre-Award support service to the University's academic community involved in research grant application activity.

Key Responsibilities

A key part of this role involves the preparation of financial information for inclusion in research grant and contract applications to external funders of research. This includes:

  • Preparing detailed budgets and financial control documents
  • Developing and maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records
  • Providing high-quality administrative support to the research community

Requirements and Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a high level of numeracy, and proven experience of preparing detailed budgets and financial control; highly developed communication skills, both oral and written; and excellent organisational and administrative skills. The role will require the ability to work effectively to meet deadlines whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy.
