Commis Chef Opportunity at Ashdown Park

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Commis Chef to join our award-winning kitchen team at Ashdown Park. As a Commis Chef, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional culinary experiences to our guests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and present dishes to the highest standards, ensuring consistency and quality in all menu items.
  • Work closely with the section head to ensure efficient and smooth service, maintaining high standards of food preparation and presentation.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues and other departments, fostering a positive and collaborative team environment.
  • Take ownership of kitchen mis-en-place, ensuring that all areas are well-organized and prepared for service.
  • Minimize waste and maintain high standards of personal appearance and hygiene, adhering to hotel policy and uniform guidelines.
Requirements:
  • NVQ Level 2 in Professional Cookery or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a similar role, with exposure to a variety of menu styles.
  • Able to multitask and maintain quality levels at all times, working well under pressure.
  • Possess a 'can-do' attitude, with the ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a close-knit team.
