Commis Chef Opportunity at Ashdown Park

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Commis Chef to join our award-winning kitchen team at Ashdown Park. As a Commis Chef, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional culinary experiences to our guests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and present dishes to the highest standards, working closely with the section head to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of menu items, ingredients, and cooking techniques to provide excellent service.
  • Contribute to a smooth and efficient service by planning ahead, anticipating needs, and communicating effectively with colleagues.
  • Build strong relationships with colleagues and other departments to ensure seamless collaboration and a positive work environment.
  • Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as required by management, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to learn.
  • Prepare kitchen mise-en-place for designated sections before and during service, maintaining high standards of organization and cleanliness.
  • Minimize waste and maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to hotel policies and procedures.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • NVQ Level 2 in Professional Cookery or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar role, with exposure to various menu styles and a strong understanding of kitchen operations.
  • Ability to multitask, maintain quality standards, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn and develop.
