Babcock International Group is seeking a skilled Nuclear Repair Welder to join our team at our Clyde, Faslane site. As a Nuclear Repair Welder, you will play a critical role in supporting operational tasks and utilizing your skills and experience in welding and fabrication to provide key services in the repair and inspection of various systems and equipment on all Royal Navy vessels.

The Role

As a Nuclear Repair Welder, you will be responsible for carrying out welding activities (MMA and TIG welding where appropriate) in support of operational tasks. You will also utilize your skills and experience in welding and fabrication to provide key services in the repair and inspection of various systems and equipment on all Royal Navy vessels.

Essential Experience

  • Previous welding experience, including significant experience of pipe welding.
  • Experience of MMA process and proficient at TIG welding on small-bore pipework encompassing Carbon Steels, Stainless Steels and Copper Nickels.
  • Previous experience of working with maintenance technical instructions, welding procedures and acceptance standards.
  • Experience of FCAW and mechanised welding would be advantageous.
  • Ability to demonstrate attention to detail and a focus on producing high-quality work to meet acceptance standards.
  • Experience of maintenance procedures, risk assessments, method statements, COSHH assessments and Safe Systems of Work with excellent team working skills.

Qualifications

  • A recognised Fabrication/Welding Apprenticeship to N/SVQ Level 3 or HNC and above in a fabrication/welding discipline with industry experience.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
