About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Repair Welder to join our team at Babcock International Group. As a Nuclear Repair Welder, you will play a critical role in supporting the repair and maintenance of complex nuclear equipment and systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out welding activities, including MMA and TIG welding, to support operational tasks.
- Utilize your skills and experience in welding and fabrication to provide key services in the repair and inspection of various systems and equipment.
- Work at heights and in confined spaces, and perform manual tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Requirements
- Previous welding experience, including significant experience of pipe welding.
- Experience of MMA process and proficiency in TIG welding on small-bore pipework, including Carbon Steels, Stainless Steels, and Copper Nickels.
- Previous experience of working with maintenance technical instructions, welding procedures, and acceptance standards.
- Experience of FCAW and mechanised welding would be advantageous.
- Ability to demonstrate attention to detail and a focus on producing high-quality work to meet acceptance standards.
- Experience of maintenance procedures, risk assessments, method statements, COSHH assessments, and Safe Systems of Work with excellent team working skills.
Qualifications
- A recognised Fabrication/Welding Apprenticeship to N/SVQ Level 3 or HNC and above in a fabrication/welding discipline with industry experience.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
