Job Title: Nuclear Repair Mechanic

At Babcock International Group, we're working to create a safe and secure world, together. As a Nuclear Repair Mechanic, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the continued availability and performance of HMNB Clyde Submarines, Surface Vessels, and the Estate.

The Role
As a Nuclear Repair Mechanic, you'll be responsible for undertaking mechanical fitting activities, repairs, and inspections on systems and equipment. You'll work closely with our team to ensure that work is carried out in line with current processes and make suggestions on improving systems and processes to increase productivity in accordance with set objectives and timescales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Completion of all planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and nuclear implicated work to ensure the department meets the objectives of the business.
  • Identification and rectification of all system, manufacture, defects, and alterations to ensure the continued availability and performance of HMNB Clyde Submarines, Surface Vessels, and the Estate.
  • Work within all H&S legislation, Safe Systems Of Work, and control of work processes within BM&T Clyde policies.

Requirements

  • Mechanical Fitting experience.
  • Machinist or Pipe Fitting experience is desirable.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to use both hand tools and machines for fitting.
  • HM Submarine, Ship Operating procedures, and Ship Tag-out procedures knowledge desirable.

Qualifications
NVQ/SVQ Level 3 or equivalent is essential.

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
