About the Role

As a Nuclear Repair Welder at Babcock International Group, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and secure operation of our nuclear facilities. You will be part of a team of highly skilled professionals who work together to maintain and repair complex equipment and systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out welding activities (MMA and TIG welding where appropriate) in support of operational tasks
  • Utilize your skills and experience in welding and fabrication to provide key services in the repair and inspection of various systems and equipment
  • Work at heights and in confined spaces, and perform manual tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods

Requirements

  • Demonstrate previous welding experience, including significant experience of pipe welding
  • Experience of MMA process and proficient at TIG welding on small-bore pipework encompassing Carbon Steels, Stainless Steels and Copper Nickels
  • Previous experience of working with maintenance technical instructions, welding procedures and acceptance standards
  • Experience of FCAW and mechanised welding would be advantageous
  • Ability to demonstrate attention to detail and a focus on producing high-quality work to meet acceptance standards
  • Experience of maintenance procedures, risk assessments, method statements, COSHH assessments and Safe Systems of Work with excellent team working skills

Qualifications

  • Hold a recognised Fabrication/Welding Apprenticeship to N/SVQ Level 3 or HNC and above in a fabrication/welding discipline with industry experience

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
