About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Repair Mechanical Fitter to join our team at Babcock International Group. As a Nuclear Repair Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for undertaking mechanical fitting activities, repairs, and inspections on systems and equipment on all RN and other entitled Vessels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Completion of all planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and nuclear implicated work to ensure the department meets the objectives of the business.
  • Identification and rectification of all system, manufacture, defects, and alterations to ensure the continued availability and performance of HMNB Clyde Submarines, Surface Vessels, and the Estate.
  • Work within all H&S legislation, Safe Systems Of Work, and control of work processes within BM&T Clyde policies.

Requirements

  • Mechanical Fitting experience.
  • Machinist or Pipe Fitting experience is desirable.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to use both hand tools and machines for fitting.
  • HM Submarine, Ship Operating procedures, and Ship Tag-out procedures knowledge desirable.

Qualifications

  • NVQ/SVQ Level 3 or equivalent is essential.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
