Job Title: Orthopaedic Scrub Theatre Practitioner

At King Edward VII's Hospital, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Orthopaedic Scrub Theatre Practitioner to join our team. As a key member of our surgical team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our theatres and providing exceptional care to our patients.

About the Role:

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, where you will have the chance to develop your skills and expertise in orthopaedic surgery. You will work closely with our experienced consultants and surgical team to provide high-quality care to patients undergoing a range of surgical procedures, including orthopaedic surgeries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and maintain the sterile field during surgical procedures
  • Assist the surgical team in the operating theatre
  • Ensure patient safety throughout the perioperative period
  • Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anaesthetists, and other theatre staff
  • Accurately record details of the surgical procedure
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Valid registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) or Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Previous experience as a Scrub Practitioner in a UK-based hospital setting
  • Specific competence in scrubbing for orthopaedic surgeries
  • Relevant post-registration qualification in perioperative nursing or equivalent
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment
