Job Title: Orthopaedic Scrub Theatre Practitioner

At King Edward VII's Hospital, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Orthopaedic Scrub Theatre Practitioner to join our team. As a key member of our surgical team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care to patients undergoing orthopaedic surgeries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and maintain the sterile field during orthopaedic surgeries
  • Assist the surgical team in a range of surgeries, including orthopaedic procedures
  • Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anaesthetists, and other theatre staff to ensure seamless coordination during surgeries
  • Accurately record details of the surgical procedure, including instruments used, counts, and any relevant observations
Requirements:
  • Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner with valid registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) or Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), as applicable
  • Previous experience as a Scrub Practitioner in a UK based hospital setting, with specific competence in scrubbing for orthopaedic surgeries
  • Can assist in a wide range of surgeries including Gynae, General, ENT, Plastic, Breast, and Urology procedures
  • Possession of a relevant post-registration qualification in perioperative nursing or equivalent
