Job Title: Orthopaedic Scrub Theatre Practitioner

At King Edward VII's Hospital, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Orthopaedic Scrub Theatre Practitioner to join our team.

About the Role:

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a leading-edge surgical environment, equipped with the latest technology and innovative techniques. As an Orthopaedic Scrub Theatre Practitioner, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care to patients undergoing a range of surgical procedures, including orthopaedic surgeries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preparing and maintaining the sterile field
  • Assisting the surgical team
  • Ensuring patient safety throughout the perioperative period
  • Acting as the scrub practitioner during orthopaedic surgeries
  • Assisting in a range of surgeries, with a focus on orthopaedic procedures
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner with valid registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) or Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), as applicable
  • Previous experience as a Scrub Practitioner in a UK-based hospital setting, with specific competence in scrubbing for orthopaedic surgeries
  • Relevant post-registration qualification in perioperative nursing or equivalent
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of orthopaedic surgical techniques
